Right now, stop and feel the pulse of your heart. Feel the air rushing in and out of your lungs! Your body is working in exquisite harmony to keep you alive, day after day.
Since you don’t have to focus on keeping yourself alive, you are free to put your attention on your soul and heart’s calling. This starts with focusing on your desires.
Some desires you’re already aware of. Others you’re not. Some desires are tender. Some are wild. Some are simple. Some are so heart wrenchingly deep that you don’t feel right until you find a way to create them.
Some desires will clarify and align you. Others will throw your life into chaos and uncertainty. Some desires will upset other people… and some will create conflict inside you. But one thing is for sure:
What YOU want is unique, and is purely, beautifully and powerfully YOU!
You are meant to want, to yearn and to long in the ways you do! Desire is what stretches your heart and allows you to be fully alive on this wild ride of life.
So, whether you’ve tucked some of your desires away in a safe place, or attempted to destroy them after they’ve caused you pain, they are still inside of you.
If you keep your desires hidden they will weigh you down, make you feel funky, throw your relationships into disarray, or even make you wonder why you’re alive.
It’s time to create a healthy relationship with your desires. It’s time to learn to trust yourself and to discern whether what you want now won’t be good for you later, which desires support your vitality and sanity, and which desires are the tip of an iceberg your heart is hungry for you to explore.
There is a part of you that knows what’s true, what’s healthy, and what makes you come alive. If you don’t have this kind of relationship with yourself check out our Self-Love Special.
Today, see what it’s like to take the lid off your desires! Gather them like a collection of beautiful seashells. Celebrate them without the need to do anything with them yet.
See how much pleasure you can take in the desire itself, rather than jumping ahead to making it happen. The feeling of desire itself is pleasurable. When you can separate your desire from hopelessness, fear and judgement, new possibilities appear, you feel energized, you inspire others and you start to glow in a way that draws people and experiences to you.
Take a minute or two to think about what you want most today. Hold it close to your heart. See if you can find pleasure in the desire itself, before you go about creating, asking for, or receiving it.
Then share it with people you trust! And share it with us on this blog too so we can hold it with you. Leave your comments and questions here also.
And if you’re ready to tap into the rocket fuel that will have you love your life so much you can barely keep from telling strangers, self-love will get you there. There are a couple spots left. One of them could be yours!
